Welcome to Winslow Crossing
Winslow was the happening place in Northern Arizona from the town's
beginning around 1890 until the early 1970's. Much American History
was made here during the heyday of Route 66, especially in the
1950's and the 1960's. When Interstate 40 was completed in the
early 1970's, Route 66 fell into disuse and Winslow was suddenly
bypassed by travelers. Through the 1980's and early 1990's the
town's business district was all but abandoned and fell into a
state of blight.
Since the late 1990's, however, there has been a renewed interest
in Winslow. Businesses are rebuilding, the population is growing,
and the city is coming back to life. Everywhere you look you see
the renaissance of a town that is regaining its prominence.
